| When
Wilson L. Fenn opened his first machine shop in 1900, Orville and
Wilbur Wright were still tinkering with bicycles.
As
the aircraft industry developed, so did Wilson Fenns machine
shop. As the business grew, Fenn Technologies became a leading
supplier of critical close tolerance parts for the aircraft industry.
Forty
years later, World War II made harsh demands on designs, materials
and manufacturing techniques. Again Fenn emerged as a leading supplier
of critical parts, supplying components for the F4U Corsair, the
B-29 Superfortress, and many other aircraft.
During
the post-war years, Fenn continued to blaze trails with new technologies
and manufacturing techniques.
Fenn
is proud to have been involved in almost every major helicopter
project since the early 1950s.
Active
in jet aircraft manufacturing since the 1960s, Fenn built landing
gear and jet engine components for the F-14 fighter.
In
the mid-1980s, AVCO chose Fenn to produce the power turbine housing
for the new M-1 Tank.
Today,
Fenn continues to produce critical parts for our nations military.
Fenn supplies main rotor assembly components for the Apache helicopter,
the Chinook helicopter, the Super Stallion helicopter and the Black
Hawk helicopter. These parts have to be machined to extreme tolerances.
Thats why companies like McDonnell Douglas Helicopters, Boeing
and Sikorsky continue to choose Fenn.
The
company is now preparing for the challenges of the 21st Century
by investing in the most modern manufacturing processes. Fenn's
goal: to continue crafting the close tolerance parts its customers
have demanded - and received - for over 100 years.
