Fenn
Impact Cutoff machines achieve extreme precision by
employing a double impact cutting principle. The cut
is accomplished by feeding the stock into a pair of
precision cutoff dies within the impact block. These
opposed dies are actuated with short, simultaneous strokes
by two flywheel-cam assemblies. This “Double Impact”
literally fractures the metal, cleanly cutting the stock
at the interface of the two dies – with little
heat and with minimum distortion.
Three
Models to Choose From
Fenn Impact Cutoff machines come in three sizes:
The
Model 62 which has a capacity of 5/8" maximum diameter
mild steel, the Model 125, which has a capacity of 1-1/4"
maximum diameter mild steel: and the Model 200, which
has capacity of 2” maximum diameter mild steel.
Other
Feeding Systems
For coiled stock, the machine can be equipped with a
payoff reel and combination pinch roll/hydraulic driven
straightener, which brings stock up to the Impact roll
feed. When shorter than normal slugs or long lengths
of small diameter stock are to be cut, press or “hitch”
feeds are also available.
Clean,
Square Cuts
The exceptional accuracy and cut squareness of a Fenn
Impact Cutoff machine practically eliminates blank deformity.
In most cases there is no need to do anything else with
blank, eliminating the expense of a further finishing
operation.
Get
up to 300 Cuts per Minute
The Model 62 Fenn Impact Cutoff machine can deliver
up to 300 cuts per minute. The bigger machines, Models
125 and 200, can deliver up to 180 cuts per minute.
All three machines are economical on short production
runs as well.
Cut
a Wide Variety of Shaped Stock
Precise length and cuts squareness can be achieved with
a wide range of shapes ... round, square, rectangular,
hexagonal, triangular or octagonal... in bar form.
A
Fenn Impact Cutoff machine is ideal for producing:
• Roller and needle bearing rollers
• Automotive parts
• Hand tools – chisel, screwdriver shaft,
sockets
• Motor shafts
• Bolts, studs, rivets, dowel pins
• Cold forming slugs
• Drill and tap blanks
Bar
Feeders
Bar feeders for Models 62 and 125 handle stock from
3/8" to 1-1/4" diameter in lengths up to 20
feet with a 10,000 lb. capacity.
Bar feeders
for Model 200 handle stock from 3/4" diameter to
2" diameter in lengths up to 20 feet with a 10,000
lb. capacity.
Bars
are individually released from an inclined ramp, and
axially driven by feed rolls into the dies. A micro-adjust
positive stop triggers the die stroke and assures extreme
accuracy of slug length.
