Innovations
are expected from industry leaders, and Fenn's Torin® designs
and builds machines that serve as the benchmark for
the most innovative advances in the spring coiling and
wire forming industries to dates.
A new
level of performance can now be achieved with Fenn's Torin®
line of camless spring coilers. Their full line of CNC 3, 4
& 5 axis machines represent state-of-the-art spring
production equipment and performance.
Unlike
other machines which require unique mechanical linkages
and cams for each job, Fenn's Torin® CNC machines
start producing in the time it takes you to enter your
program. Should job priorities change, you can simply
stop the machine and recall the desired program to quickly
modify the production requirements and new product out-put.
Multi
Axis CNC Camless Spring Coilers
Torin
CNC machines are easily set up. What takes hours to
set up for some mechanical machines is reduced to minutes
on Fenn's Torin®’s new generation of CNC spring coilers.
Now, small production runs can be profitable because
a recalled spring can be quickly and accurately produced.
Preset production count automatically stops the machine
when the desired production run is reached.
Servo
Motors…The Heart of Fenn's Torin®’s CNC Spring
Makers
The
Fenn's Torin® CNC Springmakers are designed for the full
range of traditional wire sizes, but differ from the
mechanical counterparts by being fully servo controlled.
The feed, diameter, pitch, torsion and coiling point
axes are directly driven with externally commutated
AC brushless servo motors. There are no cams or associated
levers and linkages used, and there are no motor brushes
to wear out. Torque transmission on the diameter, pitch,
torsion and coiling point is done through pre-loaded
ball screws, thus eliminating backlash effects. The
servo motors have a very high torque-to-inertia ratio
to maximize responsiveness.
Fenn's Torin®
CNC Spring Coiler Features
Interchangeable
tooling. Fenn's Torin®’s standard mechanical spring
coiler tooling is utilized in most cases.
Wider
range of springs can be produced. There is increased
tool travel on pitch, diameter and torsion over the
mechanical machine. This opens up the scope of the CNC
over mechanical equivalents.
Increased
set up flexibility allows for the use of the hydraulic
feed roll pressure and cut off. This cut off feature
can be independently activated at any time during the
set-up process, saving valuable time.
Extremely
close tolerances. These are superior to mechanical springmakers.
Servo motors and precision hardened pre-loaded ball
screws on diameter, pitch and torsion provide a zero
backlash operation.
